Guy C. LaMont, age 40, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

His memorial visitation was held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 5th at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 3:30 PM.

Guy LaMont was born January 6, 1983, to Myron and Vicki LaMont. He was the first Centennial baby for the Willow Lake Centennial year and arrived 100 years after his namesake and great-grandfather. He left us on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after suffering a heart attack.

Guy enjoyed many aspects of farm life, but had a special place in his heart for his pets, cows and horses.

His first special horse was "Millie", a palomino pony that carried him through many adventures until he outgrew her. He worked with a variety of horses, but Badger and Guy were a special team at the ranch and horse events. Guy wasn't limited in his pursuits. He was so proud when he achieved his first "Robin Hood" in archery, after working diligently honing his skills. He was active in FFA and received many awards.

After graduation from Willow Lake High School, Guy attended Black Hills State in Spearfish, where he graduated with a degree in Outdoor Education. He worked with Edge Sports after returning from working at Moonlight Basin Resort in Montana. There are stories that remain a mystery there, but his ski patrol rescue pole looked well used.

After several years in the Black Hills, Guy returned home to work, but his heart remained "out west." He will be returned to his home there later this summer.

Grateful for having been a part of Guy's life journey are his parents, Myron and Vicki; his "problem" sister, Kelsi; his nephew and his reason for living, Ryder; as well as his grandma, Dorothy Miller.

His extended family is extensive with many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend, Liz.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Olive LaMont and Kenneth Miller. He will be reunited with friends as well as his dogs, Hannah and Brooke.
