Gracie Neitzert, age 89, of Huron, passed peacefully in to the loving arms of her Savior, Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 16, at Faith Alive Church. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday at the church.

Gracie Holsapple was born in Centralia, Kansas, on December 7, 1936, to Glenn and Iola (Roberts) Holsapple. As she grew up, Gracie was involved with 4-H. She attended school in Kansas, and later met August Neitzert at Fort Riley, where he was stationed. They fell in love, and were married on June 7, 1954. They were able to share 62 years together. To this union, they had three sons, Jack, Steve and Bob. Gracie was involved with the PTA groups at her sons' schools.

August and Gracie made their home in Huron, where Gracie worked at multiple businesses, including Raven Industries, JCPenney and K-Mart. A job she was the proudest of was her time as an optical assistant. She enjoyed working with customers, and deeply valued the many friends she made at all of her jobs over the years.

Outside of work, Gracie was an active member of Faith Alive Church. She enjoyed cross stitching and sewing until her vision declined. She was a member of the Vision Club of Huron. Gracie attended exercise class for decades at the Huron Senior Center. She liked gardening and was proud of her beautiful flower beds. Gracie and August enjoyed raising the many dogs they had as pets through their years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Iola Holsapple; and her husband, August in 2015.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her three sons, Jack (Ginger) Neitzert of Huron, Steve (Crystal Bach) Neitzert of Sioux Falls and Bob (Kathy) Neitzert of Huron; four grandson, Brandon (Beth) Neitzert of Cavour, Corey (Pauline) Neitzert of Madison Wisconsin, Greg (Jennifer) Neitzert of Sioux Falls and Jason Neitzert of Nashville, Tennessee; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Neitzert of Sioux Falls; three step-grandchildren, Bryan (Erin Jurgensen) Batien of Florida, Brianna (Aaron) Zobel of Sioux Falls and Brennan (Julie) Batien of Michigan; seven step-great-grandchildren, Brynn and Brecken Zobel of Sioux Falls, Emily and Nora Hannan of Orlando, Florida and Dean, Hudson and Asher Batien, all of Lowell, Michigan. Gracie is also survived by one brother, Glen (Jeanette) Holsapple of Marysville, Kansas; three sisters, Helen Weyer of Nebraska, Mary Green of Colorado and Janet Temple of Kansas; her nieces and nephews; many good friends; and her beloved puppies, Bonnie and Clyde.
