Georgia L. Lindsey, age 89, of Huron, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Avantara Healthcare-Huron surrounded by her children and loving husband.

A private family funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 29th at the First Baptist Church. It was live-streamed on the Kuhler Funeral Home Facebook page.

Interment was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association .

Georgia was born February 19, 1931 at Aberdeen, SD to Harold and Myrtle (Hall) Brash.  Georgia grew up in the Aberdeen and Mobridge areas, graduating from Mobridge High School in 1949.

While working at a popcorn stand outside of the movie theater in Mobridge, she met a young man named Hugh Lindsey, an insurance salesman.  They were married February 18, 1950 in Aberdeen.  After they were married, they moved to Brookings, where Hugh continued to sell insurance and they started their family, Barbara and Douglas were born there and Georgia taught in a one-room rural school and raised her children.  A new opportunity came along and they moved to Huron, to start and operate the Lindsey Agency, this became home.  Phillip and Debbie were born in Huron and Georgia kept busy raising her four children.

She was also very active in her faith and in her church First Baptist Church, involved in many activities there for many years.  She also helped as a Girl Scout leader and was an extension club member.  Georgia also helped Hugh as secretary at the agency working daily.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Myrtle Brash and a step-brother, Charles Brash.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh Lindsey, of Huron; children, Barbara (Michael) Graham, of Toledo, OH, Douglas Lindsey, of Huron, Phillip Lindsey, of Huron, Debbie (Wayne) Jungemann of Huron; Grandchildren, Jason (Liz) Graham, Joel (Angela) Graham, Christina (Dana) Miller, Chad Lindsey, Kory (Tyra) Lindsey, Ryan (Stephanie) Jungemann, Heather (Travis) Wipf, Jeremy (Ashley) Jungemann; great-grandchildren, James and Jaclyn Jungemann, Oliver and Emersyn Jungemann, Lindsey and Sophie Graham, Ethan and Emily Graham, Kaden and Kayla Mae Lindsey, Aspen Lindsey, and Jase Miller. a brother, Arliss (Lorry) Brash of Ridgeway, CO; step-mother, Irene Brash of Long Beach, CA; two step-sisters, Connie Brash of Long Beach, CA and Julie Monroe of Buda, TX.
