Genevieve Quiram, age 89, of Huron, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 27th, at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will gather at the home of Judy Henson at 1059 Arizona Avenue SW, Huron.
Genevieve Arlene Hendricks was born April 11, 1928, to Harry and Carrie (Janssen) Hendricks at Wessington Springs. She grew up at Wessington Springs at graduated from high school there. Genevieve received her teachers certificate from General Beadle at Madison and taught at a rural school near Wessington for one year.
On December 21, 1946, Genevieve married Emil W. Quiram at Huron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil on February 23, 2005; one brother, George Hendricks; one sister, Ruth Monroe; and one granddaughter, Brenda Petersen
Grateful for having shared her life are her four children, Geneva and her husband, Bill Goss of Salem, Billy and his wife, Carolyn Quiram of Huron, Judy and her husband, Danny Henson of Huron, and James and his wife, Twila Quiram of Wolsey; nine grandchildren, Bradley and his wife, Gina Henson, Bobby Henson, James Quiram, Ryan and his wife, Bonnie Quiram, Shawn Quiram, Chastity and her husband, Chris Beals, Zack Quiram, Chad Volkers, and Kim and her husband, Jason Tyrrell; twenty-one great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren.
