Everett E. Kleinsasser entered his eternal home on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the age of 92 years old.
His life was celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 25, at the Living Hope Alliance Church. Military honors were conducted by the Huron Veterans Council. A private interment was held in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. His service was live-streamed .
Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 24, at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Everett was born on December 25, 1930, on the family farm near Broadland, South Dakota, to Paul and Susie (Waldner) Kleinsasser. He was the youngest of seven children.
Everett served with the United States Army in Korea from 1952-1954, earning several service medals. He married Ramona Decker on December 20, 1954. Everett was employed with Armour & Co. for 29 years. His passions were his family, farming, his work with cattle, fishing, and any yard work and gardening that allowed him to be outdoors. Everett enjoyed his daily exercise at the Nordby Center and regular coffee with his friends. Everett's humble wisdom, quiet presence, kind demeanor, and quick-witted humor will be missed by many.
Everett was an active member of Living Hope Alliance Church where he served on the church board as secretary, treasurer, trustee, financial secretary and usher. He enjoyed maintaining the church property and parsonage. Everett was grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ and in serving others, which he did so well.
Everett is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Craig) McCullum, Watertown, Minnesota; two sons, Wendell (Carol) Kleinsasser, Kearney, Nebraska and Terry (Renae) Kleinsasser, Mitchell, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Steven (Marybeth) Kleinsasser, Jared (Amber) Moscrip, Casey (Susie) Moscrip, Hilary (Dale) Van Housen, Cassandra (Zachary) Bush, Ariel (Jeffrey) Lindahl, Olivia (Kevin) Klingbiel and Alexa (Collin) Barrett; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bernice Kleinsasser; and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona, in April 2023; his parents; his siblings, Edwin (Ruby) Kleinsasser, Clarence (Hannah) Kleinsasser, Ted (Violet) Kleinsasser, Paul Kleinsasser, Ann (Richard) McCoy and Elvina (Johnnie) Hofer; and his infant son, James Silas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Living Hope Alliance Church Special Projects Fund.
