Evelyn Gresdahl, age 96, of Huron, passed away peacefully at Avantara of Huron on Tuesday August 22, 2023.

A prayer service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 29, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Evelyn Gresdahl was born on April 19, 1927, to Ben and Helen (Thomas) Peters at Rugby, North Dakota. She later met Dermot Gresdahl at Leeds, North Dakota, and they would be married in 1946. Their son, Rick, was born in 1949. The family would move to their home at Huron in 1957.

Realizing she never learned how to ride a bicycle, her son gifted her one, and it became her passion, riding all over Huron. She also loved to garden, and especially loved to take care of her flowers. Evelyn spent her career in sales, first working at Potters Shoe Store before moving on to Jim Venables Shoes, and ended up working for Pamida for 14 years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Dermot Gresdahl; her parents, Ben and Helen (Thomas) Peters; and her siblings, Joe, Nick, Lenny, Francis and Barbara Peters.

She is survived by her son, Rick Gresdahl of Huron; her sister, Dorothy Scharberg of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and her sister-in-law, Myonne Peters of New Rockford, North Dakota.
