Eugene "Gene" Gross, age 81, of Wolsey, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at his home. His funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 10th, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery at a later date.
Eugene "Gene" Kenneth Gross was born April 5, 1935 to Jake and Barbara (Stahl) Gross at Huron. He attended a country school. He accepted Christ as his Savior in 1952.
On May 19, 1961, Gene married Kaye Mellenberndt at Norfolk, Nebraska. They made their home in Huron where Gene worked at Armour's, Swift, Dakota Pork, and later as a farmhand. They recently moved to Wolsey to be closer to their family.
Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Kaye of Wolsey; one son, Rod (Lori) Gross of Wolsey; one daughter, Tammy (JR) Himler of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren, Ashley (Alan) Dorris of Wolsey, Kyle (Jennifer) Gross of Wolsey, Brandon Ransom of Huron and Zachariah Faulkner of Florida; six great-grandchildren, Jocelynn, Payton, Kailynn, Emersynn, Cayson and Jackson; two brothers, Gordon (Mary) Gross and Billy (Lynnett) Gross, all of Huron; one sister, Barbara Rosenberger of Mason City, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Janet Gross of Huron, Karen Mellenberndt and Gail Brown, both of Blaine, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
