Emily Nelson, age 34, of Huron, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at her home. Her funeral service was held at 7 PM Thursday, July 9th, at the Huron Christian Church.
Emily Jane Nelson was born May 18, 1981, to Jane Nelson. She grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School. Emily worked as a waitress at her family's business, the Barn Restaurant, for many years. Her love of animals led her to work also at the Beadle County Humane Society. She loved her children and had a special gift of being able to make people smile.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her two children, Ivory M. Jenson and Joseph N. Jenson, Jr., both of Huron; her brother, Christopher Nelson of Huron; a step-brother, Bronson Woodhouse of Brookings; two nephews, Christopher Nelson of Sioux Falls and Damon Marvel of North Dakota; one niece, Jade Woodhouse of Brookings; three uncles, James Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, and Joel (Amy) Nelson, all of Huron; one aunt, Julie (Robert) Lubke of Sioux Falls; and many cousins and friends.
