Edward Boomsma was born September 10, 1940, in Tzum, Holland to Sam and Minnie (Eenling) Boomsma. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1948 and they settled in the Broadland area. Ed grew up in the Broadland area and attended the Nash Country School.
Edward married Darlys Hofer. She died in 1988.
Eddie enjoyed the outdoors and being around animals. Eddie enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends.
He is survived by his children, Melody and Brian, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Ranny and her husband, Allan; and his brother, John and his wife, Pam.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlys; his parents, Sam and Minnie Boomsma; his brothers, Jake and George; and his sister, Tena.
