Edna Iverson, age 81, of Huron, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service was at 1 PM, Saturday, March 14th, at the Huron Christian Church, with Pastor Brad Korell, officiating. Burial was in the Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake.
Edna Elene Solberg was born on June 9, 1933, to Ole and Clara Solberg at Willow Lake, South Dakota, where she grew up and graduated from high school. Edna married Alvin Iverson on June 14, 1951. The couple moved to Huron in 1956.
She loved gardening, embroidering, and most of all being with family. She spent a good share of her life raising her seven children and watching her grandchildren in her home at 1354 Iowa Avenue NE, where she resided until she moved to the nursing home in September of 2013.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Esther Sprang.
Grateful for having shared in Edna's life are her husband, Alvin; her children, Arnold Iverson, Carol Iverson, Larry Iverson, Jim (Amy) Iverson, and Wayne (Laura) Iverson, all of Huron, Marie (Monte) VanVugt of Black Hawk, and Patricia (John) Haiar of Kimball, Nebraska; sixteen grandchildren, Matthew VanVugt, Michael VanVugt, Shane Iverson, Jamye Iverson, Angel Iverson, Allanna Iverson, Christina (Justus) Luthy, Rashelle (Dwight) Hofer, Christopher (Amanda) Iverson, Jesse Iverson, Luke Iverson, Josh (Stacey) Haiar, Dustin Haiar, Sara (Isaac) Dozier, Ben (Summer) Haiar, and Nicholas Haiar; two step grandchildren, Christine Hoek and Ann Hoek; and eleven great grandchildren.
