Duane Jungemann, age 81, of Brookings and formerly of Wolsey, died Monday, November 14, 2016, at the United Living Center at Brookings. His funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 17th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Duane Jungemann was born August 3, 1935, to Robert and Esther (Kahre) Jungemann at Wolsey, South Dakota. He received his education at Weeks School and Wolsey High School. Duane was a graduate of South Dakota State University.
On October 7, 1976, Duane married Sharon Bothwell. They made their home north of Wolsey, where farming was his life's occupation. He retired in 2013 and they moved to Brookings.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife of 40 years, Sharon of Brookings; one son, Brent and his wife, Jenn Jungemann of Sioux Falls; one grandson, Zachary Jungemann; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Balk and Sarah Balk; and one sister, Darlene Jungemann of Huron.
