Dorothy M. Turner, age 93, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Avanata – Huron.
A memorial visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 24th at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
A private graveside service was held in the Riverside Cemetery.
Dorothy M. Turner was born January 14, 1927, to Samuel R. and Emma C. (Loers) Turner at Huron. She lived her entire life at Huron. In 1944, Dorothy graduated from Huron High School. Shortly after high school, she went to work at the Soil Conservation Services serving in several positions for many years. Dorothy lived with and cared for her mother until her mother passed away.
Dorothy was close to her cousin, Charles Larson, as they were both only children. They grew up like brother and sister. The Turner/Larson family were very close through the years. She loved spending time with family and never missed a birthday celebration. She prided herself in keeping a well-manicured yard, with the help of her cousin's sons, Bob and Steve.
Dorothy was a member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents and close cousin, Charles Larson and his wife, Mavonne.
She is survived by her three cousins, GaileAnn Erma Larson of Lake Forest, California, Robert James Larson and his wife, Renee of Lead, South Dakota and Steve Arthur Larson and his wife, Kimberly of Montrose, South Dakota.
