Donna Faye Stanfield, age 83, was welcomed to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Spearfish, SD.

Her funeral service was held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 5th at Bethesda Church, Huron. Burial followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Family prefers memorials to be directed toward her funeral expenses.

Donna was born on October 27, 1938 to Dean and Grace (Butts) Stanfield in Mitchell, South Dakota. Donna was born the youngest of nine children and grew up on several farms in the Mitchell/Huron area. She enjoyed her farm life and especially loved riding horses.

Donna graduated from Huron High School in 1957 and continued a very close relationship with her siblings and parents, spending almost every weekend with family until her parents passed away in 1979 and 1980.

She raised her family in Mitchell, SD where she attended secretarial school and worked as a legal secretary for Pat Kirby Law Office, Schmucker, Paul, & Nohr Associates, and Syncom. Donna enjoyed drives around Lake Mitchell on the weekends, playing at the park with her four daughters, Deborah, Penny, Sheryl, Lisa and trips to see her friends and family. Donna attended Mitchell Wesleyan Church from 1978-1987. In 1987, Donna moved to Omaha, NE to be close to her oldest daughter and grandchildren. She lived there for approximately 13 years and worked at Lindsay & Lindsay Law firm and K-Mart. She then moved to Huron, SD to help with her brother, Ralph's care. While living in Huron, Donna worked at the Bradfield Leary Center and Wal-Mart and attended Bethesda Church where she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed her time with her siblings and nieces and nephews.

In 2017, after discovering heart concerns and needing to live close to one of her daughters, Donna moved to Spearfish, SD. Donna was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer's but still enjoyed singing in her church choir, long drives though Spearfish Canyon and the Black Hills and holidays with family. During this time, Sheryl became her primary caregiver until the time of her passing.

Donna is survived by two sisters, Janet Bobeldyke, Huron, SD and Betty Seter, Kuna, ID. Her four daughters and their spouses Deborah (Jerry) Korth, Omaha, NE, Penny (Tim) Smith, Brooklyn Center, MN, Sheryl (Brian) Malde, Spearfish, SD, and Lisa (Verlyn) Fast, Lafayette, IN; 10 grandchildren; Brooke (Allerdings) Greene, Austin Allerdings, Will Malde, Nathan Fast, Abby (Smith) Rothwell, Nicholas Fast, Joel Smith, Chelsea (Fast) Cornell, Logan Malde, and Calli (Fast) Wickes and 17 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Eldon, Bruce, Ralph, Robert, Alice Joy, and Helen Estes.
