Donna Knight, age 82, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home at White Lake.

Her funeral service was held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 15th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery at Wessington Springs.  Her service was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home website. 

Donna Mae Schroeder was born May 6, 1938, to Elmer and Lorraine (Maurice) Schroeder, south of Lane, South Dakota. She was baptized, confirmed and later was married in the Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Lane. She attended school at Lane and then graduated from Wessington Springs in 1956.

On June 10, 1956, Donna married James A. Knight at Lane.

She was a foster parent and a Sunday School teacher. Donna loved music and enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James on November 11, 2020; and one brother, Gayle Schroeder.

Donna is survived by six children, Greg Knight of Huron, Rick (Cheri) Knight of Mitchell, Theresa (Ronald) Glissendorf of White Lake, John (Sally) Knight of Mitchell, Larry Knight of Alpena and Lynette (Casey) Rose of Lincoln, North Dakota.

She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Jason Knight, Travis (Tirzah) Knight, Eric (Mariah) Knight, Jeremy (Katie) Knight, Levi (Jordan) Knight, Jessica (Eric) Olson, Ariel Glissendorf, Ryan Glissendorf, Rebecca Knight, Julie (Mark) Wesolick and Cassandra (Brian Schauer) Rose; as well as ten great-grandchildren, Graham, Marshall, Jasper, Xander, Avery, Elliott, Owen, Gideon, Stella and Colton.
