Donald Stahl, age 68, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Avera McKennan Hospital at Sioux Falls.
His funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 2nd, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Yale. His service was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home website.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Donald Mark Stahl was born May 21, 1953, to George and Bertha (Tschetter) Stahl at Yale, South Dakota. He grew up on the family farm. He attended grade school in country schools in Liberty Township and in Yale. Donald graduated from James Valley Christian School.
Upon confession of his faith in Jesus Christ, Donald was baptized and became a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in 1967. As a man of faith, Donald continued his walk with Jesus Christ and in the last twenty plus years he attended Bethesda Church.
After graduation, he farmed with his father and brothers. He also worked with several area carpenters until he started driving truck. Donald recently retired after many years with American's Service Lines.
His greatest joy was spending many hours playing with his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He had a special place in their hearts because he always made time for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha Stahl; three brothers, Daniel, Darwin and Douglas Stahl; one sister, Mildred Stahl; one sister-in-law, Bertha (Minder) Stahl; one niece, Sarah Jo Kleinsasser; and one great-niece, Autumn Tschetter.
Grateful for having shared in his life are three sisters, Sharon Stahl of Sioux Falls, Elaine (Wilmer) Kleinsasser of Huron and Georgiane (Kenneth) Kleinsasser of Huron; one sister-in-law, Betty Stahl of Huron; eight nephews, Darrel Stahl, Kevin Kleinsasser, Kenny Kleinsasser, Dean Kleinsasser, David Stahl, James Stahl, Robert Stahl, Brent Stahl; five nieces, Georgetta Loewen, Katie Dick, Jorjena Tschetter, Shelly Amundson, Elana Harakel; and 39 great-nieces and great-nephews.
