Obituary

Donald Martin, age 53, of Huron, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his home. His memorial service was held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 4th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Donald Martin was born to Fred and Donna (Valentine) Martin on April 5, 1963, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington. He attended Curtis High School in University Place, Washington. Don earned his degree at the Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington.After college, he worked alongside his father installing cabinetry and floor coverings.
In December 1999, Don met Teresa Munger online. He lived at Tacoma, Washington until moving to Huron, South Dakota in June 2000 to live with Teresa. On July 25, 2014, Don and Teresa were married at the Beadle County Clerk of Courts.
Don was employed at Banner Engineering from 2000 to 2012.He was a lifelong drummer and played in numerous rock bands while in Washington. Most recently, Don played with a local band called Complete Idiots.
Don kept busy by completing handiwork and "honey do" projects around his home. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and taking care of his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his step-son, Dustin Munger; and his beloved dogs, Teddy and Jake.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Martin of Huron; his mother, Donna (Bryan) Golden of Sequim, Washington; his father, Fred (Diana) Martin of Gig Harbor, Washington; two sisters, Crystal (Ron) Billings of University Place, Washington and Adrienne (Christopher Shelley) Martin of Maple Valley, Washington; a step-daughter, Cassandra Munger of Huron; a grandson, Kristopher Santiago; three nephews, one niece; and his beloved dog, Molly.
