Obituary

Delores Meyer, age 79, of Cavour, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at her home. Her funeral service was held at 10 AM Monday, November 23rd at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Delores asked that in lieu of sending flowers, memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Women, Child Evangelism Fellowship, or charity of choice in memory of her life.
Delores Jane Tschetter was born January 3, 1936, to Paul I. and Anna (Hofer) Tschetter in Broadland, South Dakota. She grew up in Huron and attended Huron High School.
Delores worked at Humphrey Drug in her late teens until she met her loving partner in life, Lester. They married August 28, 1953 in Huron. They lived on their farm south of Cavour all of their married life. After raising her children, she worked at the Huron Nursing Home, Huron University, and Huron High School. She loved spending time with her family and friends, babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years as well as hosting friends and family at their Lake Byron cabin.
She is survived by her husband Lester; four sons, Doug (Sue) Meyer of Iroquois, Paul (Lynette) Meyer of Grand Island, Nebraska, Tim (Paula) Meyer of Iroquois, and Jon (Lisa) Meyer of Huron; fourteen grandchildren, Erin (Cody) Raveling of Marshall, Minnesota, Shelby Meyer of Brookings, Nikki Clement of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jackie (Chuck) Schneider of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jessica (Randy) Powell, Adam Meyer and Daniel Meyer, all of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jason (Jill) Meyer of Cavour, Rebecca (Benjamin) Wipf of Huron, David (Brittney) Meyer of Volga, Jordan Meyer of Cavour, Laven Meyer of Oakdale, California, Tyler Meyer of Huron, and McKenzie Meyer of Huron; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances (Chester) Tschetter and Carol Wurz; two brothers, Jerome Tschetter and Calvin (Peggy) Tschetter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Paul in infancy, Iky, Clarence, and twin brother Delore; and five sisters, Dorothy Becker, Pauline Hofer, Annie Bothwell, Kathy Ritenour, and Irene Polidori.
