David "Dave" H. Scheele, age 85, of Spring Branch TX, and formerly of Huron SD, passed away June 18, 2019, at his residence under the care of hospice.

A service to honor the memory of Dave will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17th, at Kuhler Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to the service at the Kuhler Funeral Home. www.kuhlerfuneralhome.com

Dave was born in Cavour, South Dakota, on September 10, 1933, to Harold and Freida (Verch) Scheele. They later moved to Huron where Dave graduated from Huron High School in 1952. Dave's life journey next took him to Murdo, South Dakota, where he met Marjorie "Marge" Neel. The two were married in November of 1953, and had five children during their almost 20-year marriage.

In later years, Dave found love again with Gladys (Gardner) Williams. They were married in July of 2005, and made their home in Spring Branch, Texas.

Throughout his years, Dave had a variety of jobs and interests. When he was younger, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and riding motorcycles. As he grew older, his favorite pastimes included watching the Pro Rodeo series or his beloved San Antonio Spurs.

Dave's career covered many different paths, from owning the Castle Café in Huron, managing the Sportsman Bar in Huron, to various sales management jobs. However, none of them gave him the joy he felt being on the open road in his semi-truck. Through his multiple decades of driving trucks, Dave could tell you just about anything you would ever want to know about any of the highways and byways across the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Freida; two brothers, Robert and Danny Scheele; and one sister, JoAnn Claassen.

Dave is survived by his wife, Gladys (Williams) Scheele; his five children, Robin (Gary) Barton of Cheyenne, WY, Sandie (Jon) Zimmerman of Bismarck, ND, Dawn (Brian) Klinkel of Scottsdale, AZ, David (Jane) Scheele of Westminster, CO and Darin Scheele of Marshall, MN; four stepsons, Jim (May) Williams, Stephen (Lynda) Williams, Michael (Kim) Williams and Randy (Cindy) Williams; one brother, Jim Scheele; one sister, Betty (Reginald) Derksen; one sister-in-law, Brenda Scheele; one brother-in-law, Marv Claassen; seven grandchildren, Jason (Candi) Briley, Clint Barton, Jennifer Martin, Emily (Jerod) Coker, Alec Scheele, Brendan Scheele and Nathan Scheele; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
