David L. Sanderson, age 60, of Huron, passed away, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

His memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 15 at the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huron.

Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, with his family present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and a prayer service at 5:30 PM that evening at the Kuhler Funeral Home.

David L. Sanderson was born January 29, 1963, to Clayton and Lila (Hostetter) Sanderson at Britton, South Dakota. He was raised in the Houghton area and after graduating from high school, he began working for different farmers as a farm hand. He then moved into the profession, he loved, he became a truck driver.  He worked for various trucking companies over the years, most recently for CHS Transportation. He loved to talk trucking and driving through the worst blizzards he could find! David was very proud of recently being awarded a leather jacket by CHS for reaching the 10-million-mile club.

David married Georgia Boomsma on July 20, 1996, in Aberdeen.

When not driving truck, David enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed farming and feeding the animals.

He was baptized, confirmed and an active member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Lila; one son, Jesse Sanderson; and one brother, Dennis Sanderson.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia of Huron; his children, Alaina (Adrian) Winterberg of Timber Lake, Nathan (Alivia) Sanderson of Selby, Tony (Shannon) Sanderson of Herreid, Christopher Sanderson of Sioux Falls, Brianna Sanderson of Huron and Sam Sanderson of Pierre; and his grandchildren, Jesse, Adrianna, Tucker, Chandler, Cassidy, Reed, Emma, Wyatt, Isabella, Natalie, Ziva, Brodie, Abby, Clayton, Serenity, Callie, Kylee and Vincent.

He is also survived by his father, Clayton; his siblings, Jody (Dan) Thompson, Jackie Sanderson and Dana (Tangee) Sanderson; and his aunts, Lois Hostetter and Sharon Taylor.
