David G. Ransom, age 65, of Huron, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 1st at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.   Interment will follow in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery, Huron.  His service was live-streamed through our website. 

David G. Ransom was born March 23, 1956, to Larry and Jacquelyn (Kirby) Ransom in Huron.  He was raised on a farm near Wolsey.  He grew up attending school in Wolsey, graduating in 1975.  Soon thereafter he entered the workplace, working for many years at Huron Dressed Beef. After Huron Dressed Beef closed, Dave went to work at Trussbuilt as a welder for several years, later going to work for Terex until his health forced him to retire.

Dave enjoyed hunting, target shooting, gold panning in Idaho and especially loved making people happy and spending time with kids.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Ransom; his granddaughter, Destiny; and his brother-in-law, John Rich.

David is survived by his son, Brandon Ransom of Huron; two grandson, Quinton Iverson and Zeplin Ransom, both of Huron; his father, Larry Ransom pf Huron; his siblings, Kim Knutson of Huron, Vaughn (Sylvia) Ransom of Huron, Paulette (Twigg) Wehrmann of Huron and Connie Rich of Huron; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
