Obituary

David William Jones, age 58, of Huron, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, as the result of a vehicle accident. His funeral service was held at 4 PM, Wednesday, April 1st, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew Crandall, officiating.
David William Jones was born November 29, 1956, to William "Bill" Worthy and Dorothy (Smith) Jones in Huron. He graduated from Battle Lake, Minnesota High School in 1975 and attended college for one year. David was employed with Collins Communications installing radios in vehicles. He also worked construction and as tower climber. He lived in many places throughout the years including Iowa, Rapid City, Gillette, Wyoming, and Washington before returning to South Dakota.
On June 8, 2002, David married Lynn (Gilbert) Johnson at Lake Byron. David and Lynn spent time together restoring a large sail boat they named "Soulmate."
David enjoyed sailing, listening to "old time rock and roll," fishing, elk hunting, and woodworking. He volunteered his time making dog houses for the Beadle County Humane Society. David also enjoyed riding his motorcycle across the USA.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Jones of Huron; his daughter, Chyanne (James) Millican of Kempner, Texas; one son, Torrance Anthony (Leslie) Jones of Syracuse, New York; three grandsons, Jesse James Millican, Bobby Joe Millican, and William Able Jones; two granddaughters, Graycee Millican and Evelyn Park Jones; two sisters, Tanna (Scott) Tinary of White Plains, New York and Terry Romey of Carroll, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Nancy Gilbert of Huron; and one brother-in-law, David Gilbert of Huron.
