David A. Hansen, age 56, of Huron passed away at his home Friday, July 26, 2024, from a tragic electrical accident.

His memorial visitation was held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Military honors were presented at 3:00 PM, Wednesday.

David Allen Hansen was born February 27, 1968, to James and Sharon (Crandall) Hansen at Wessington Springs, South Dakota. He grew up in the Huron area and graduated from Huron High School in 1986. David joined the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged. He attended Wyoming Tech for auto body refinishing. He then returned to the Huron area for work.

He worked at Dakota Pork, then later at Dakota Provisions, at Lazer's for 12 years, and for the past 7 years he worked at Jack Links in Alpena. David was a handy-man, he could work on just about everything.

On February 15, 2019, David married Debra McAdaragh at Huron, and gained three step-daughters.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Debra Hansen; his children, Jacquelyn High (Scott McCarty), Joshua Thomas, Ryan Kleinsasser, Alexis Hansen, Dixie (Chuck) Mower, Katie (Matt) Cooke and Ashley (Matt) Diedrich; and many grandchildren.

David is also survived by his mother, Sharon Busch; his step-mother, Pam Hansen; his mother-in-law, Rose Schimke; his siblings, Laurie (Kerry) Nelson, Lisa Hansen, Justin (Tasmah) Busch, Debra (David) Holmberg, Shellie (Bryan) Bretschneider, Terry (Stephanie) Smith, Christine (Jonathan) Porter and Jamie (Justin) Lashmett; three uncles, Jeff Crandall, Roger Weinmann and Lauren Ningen; three aunts, Dawn Crandall, Pam Fode and Joann Hansen; and many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; his step-father, Louie Busch; three uncles, John Crandall, Max Hansen and Doug Chambers; two aunts, Sandra Weinmann and Marvella Chambers; his grandparents, Ben and Helen Hansen and Raymond and Julia Crandall; one nephew, Tim Nelson; and one great niece, Natalie Nelson.
