Darles Ann Gilbert, age 87, of Huron, passed away December 9, 2022, at the Weskota Manor at Wessington Springs.

A service to celebrate Darles' life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 20, 2023 , at the First Baptist Church, Huron.

The family prefers memorials, which may be sent to the Kuhler Funeral Home.

Darles Ann Hotchkiss was born March 27, 1935, to Clifford and Lorena Hotchkiss at Wessington Springs, South Dakota.

In 1954, Darles married Marvin Winter. They made their home in Huron; and had four children, Rhonda, Ronald, Mary Ann and Scott.

Darles was a member of the First Baptist Church and very active volunteer. She loved to play cards, enjoyed camping and was avid crafter crocheting and sewing quilts. After the two divorced she worked at Smith Jewelry.

Darles met and married Wendell Martin. They moved to Hitchcock, and would reside there until Wendell's passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Marvin Winter, Wendell Martin and Frank Gilbert; one brother, Harold Hotchkiss; and two sons, Ronald and Scott.

Darles is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Manning and Mary Ann Winter; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Winter; one son-in-law, Rick Shelby; five grandchildren, Erin Taylor, Nathan Winter, Jon (Teri) Manning, Hillary (Marcus) Robinson and Hope Winter; seven great-grandchildren, DeVerin Henderson, Owen Manning, Drake Winter, Lauryn Robinson, Lexi Robinson, Liv Robinson and Lyza Robinson; three great-great-grandchildren, Mahkai Henderson, and Kynnidi and Kylah Rice; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
