Connie Sproull, widow of Harry, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service was held at 2 PM, Monday, February 22nd at the Hope Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Hope Lutheran Church or the Mitchell Animal Rescue.
Connie Ciancutti was born on December 11, 1936, to John and Jean Blotter Ciancutti at New Kensington, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1958 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught senior high school students at East-Deer Frazer High School, New Kensington Business College, and at Valley High School, all in the New Kensington area. She taught business subjects as well as English to business students. Connie was active in college with Sigma Kappa sorority, a cheerleader, member of the acapella choir, student council, and drama club.
In 1979, Connie married Harry Sproull. They were members of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Lower Burrell and did much traveling, serving as interim innkeepers in her brother's bed and breakfast inn in California.
In 2002, Connie and Harry moved to Huron, South Dakota, to be closer to her grown children. There she played bridge, read many books, won several blue ribbons for her creative cross stitch projects at the State Fair, and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren growing up. Connie was a member of Hope Lutheran Church (LCMC) in Huron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband to complications of Alzheimer's disease in 2004.
She leaves many memories to her grown children, Kim (Mark) Chamberlain of Huron and David (Ann) Swab of Moorhead, Minnesota; her grown step-children, Dan (Susan) Sproull of Fairfax, Virginia and Lynn (Phil) Kasprzyk of Apollo, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Kate (Jake) Farmen, Max Chamberlain, Megan (Matt) Lee and Michael (Tabitha) Swab; nine step grandchildren, Mary(Il Yung) Um, Dan (Alaina) Sproull, Peter (Colleen) Sproull, Joseph Sproull, Anna Sproull, Joshua (Esther) Kasprzyk, Laura (Dan) Jensen, Jacob Kasprzyk, and Caleb Kasprzyk; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Lee, Amelia Farmen and Sarah Jensen; seven step great-grandchildren, Allison and Ryan Um, Evelyn Sproull, Marc, Rose and Luc Kasprzyk; one sister, Audrey Snyder of Dickenson, Texas; and two brothers, Dr. Arthur (Francesca) Ciancutti and David (Susan) Ciancutti, all of California.
Connie passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, 7 days.
