Christopher G. Barnes, age 45, of Huron, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

His family will host a Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, at the Church of the Nazarene, 2347 Wisconsin Ave SW, Huron.

Christopher George Barnes was born on April 1, 1977, to Wilmer "Lee" Barnes and Georgeen (Brower) Brown, in Huron. Chris was raised in Wolsey, where he attended school, graduating from Wolsey High School in 1995. He then attended Mitchell Technical Institute, for his HVAC.

Chris was a jack of all trades, including construction, welding, pyrotechnics, mechanic, driving the party bus for events, and pretty much anything he needed to do to help someone out. He found his true passion working with his beloved Kayla running the childcare center.

Chris loved the medieval time period, one of his favorite events was the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, where he would attend with his family and friends yearly.

Chris was truly loved by everyone he came in contact with, he had a caring, kind and compassionate way about him, that drew people close to him.

Chris is survived by his mother, Georgeen (Charles Peterson) Brown; his father, Wilmer "Lee" (Julie Thomas) Barnes; his fiancé, Kayla Sides; his children, Gabriel Chapman, Logan Authier, Katana Keller and Kali Authier; his step-sister, Kelly Thomas; his nephew, Riley Jankord; as well as his extended family, Jeannie and Wayne Hofer and Michael Hofer.

His is also survived by his many uncles and aunts, Mike Barnes, Randall (Lois Doris) Barnes, Wesley (Peggy) Barnes and Wendell (Josie) Barnes; his aunts, Wanda Weiker, Wahneta Norton and Wilma (Jerry) Seaman; and many cousins and friends.
