His celebration of life was held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 21, at Riverview United Methodist Church. His service was live streamed on Riverview's YouTube page. Burial followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Military honors were conducted by the Huron Veterans Council.

His visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, at Kuhler Funeral Home.

Raymond "Chris" Wolff was born March 19, 1952, in Murdo, South Dakota, to Raymond and Jean (Lauritson) Wolff. Chris attended school in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1970. Chris joined the United States Army in 1972 and was honorably discharged in 1975.

Chris married Ruth Wadhams on July 15, 1972. They had two children, Melissa and Julie. Chris was stationed at Baumholder Army Base in Germany and upon returning to the US in 1975, he ran Wolff's Marine with his father, Raymond. Chris also helped with grounds maintenance at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds during the fair and in the boat shop's off season. On September 3, 1983, Chris was in a horrific accident at the fairgrounds while taking the lights down from the grandstands after the Wayne Newton concert. Chris spent several months in the hospital and rehab after his accident. He endured many surgeries and infections, but kept a positive attitude through all of his struggles. He attended gunsmith school in Colorado after the accident and opened TLC Gun Shop. Chris later underwent dialysis for three years before receiving a kidney transplant that gave him a new lease on life. He always gave 100% to everything he did, including all of his hobbies. He loved old cars, motorcycles, fishing, hunting, guns, and most of all, his family. Chris touched the lives of countless people and loved talking with everyone. He especially loved taking his family and friends on hunting and fishing trips.

In 2022, Chris was reunited with his son, Jeremy, who was adopted at birth. Jeremy and family visited South Dakota to meet him and the rest of the family. Chris was very grateful to have the opportunity to meet and spend time with his son and family.

Chris is survived by his wife, Ruth; his mother, Jean Wolff; his sister, Rayla Larghe; his children, Melissa (Leslie) Wolff, Julie (Kevin) Walton and Jeremy (René) Tietz; his foster children, Tom and Mary Young; his grandchildren, Mercedes, Benjamin and Remington Walton, Morgan (Dennis) Maude, Cole (Lexy) Wolff, Haley Wolff, Peyton Schock, Kalli (Steve) Tietz Jensen and Reawna and Reegan Tietz; his great-grandchildren, Remi, Owen, Liam and Theo; his nieces and nephew, Matt (Wendy) Risetter, Amanda (Eric) Heupel and LaDonna (Chad) Wharton; as well as many other loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; his brother-in-law, Les Larghe; as well as many other relatives and friends.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, & loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!" -Hunter S. Thompson
