Obituary

Charlotte Paulson, age 90, of Huron, went to her new home in heaven with her family by her side, Monday, June 1, 2020.

Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Public visitation was held from 1 to 7 PM Monday, June 8th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. We recommend following the CDCs social distance guidelines while at the funeral home, for the safety of other visitors, the family, and the funeral home staff.

Charlotte Gravett was born November 29, 1929, to Trubert J. and Pearl (Brachvogel) Gravett at Highmore. She grew up in Spink County and attended school at Wessington graduating from Wessington High School in 1947. She then went on to study at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen. Charlotte taught in a one room schoolhouse for two years then worked in Huron at Newberry's store and Temmy and Labby office. From 1952 to 1955 she studied at Grace Bible College in Omaha, Nebraska.

On July 12, 1957, Charlotte married Forrest L. Paulson at Huron. She taught school near Yale for one year. She later worked for the Huron Public School Food Service, retiring in 1991.

She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Charlotte enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, crocheting, quilting and was known to try her hand at writing short stories. Some of her work earned ribbons at the South Dakota State Fair.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest on November 30, 2006; a sister in infancy, Lucille; brothers Bill and Chancey, and sisters Shirley (Don) Paulson and Norma (Dick) Skavang.

She is survived by one brother, Stanley and his wife, Virginia of Newman, Georgia; and two sisters-in-law, Ada Johnson of Vernal, Utahl and Marjorie (Chancey) Gravett of Boise, Idaho.

Grateful for having shared her life are her four sons and their wives, Rodney and Lisa Paulson of Colman, Clinton and Cathy Paulson of Huron, Jeffrey and Linda Paulson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Scott and Sharon Paulson of Granite Falls, Minnesota; twenty-one grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Anna, Matthew, Carissa, Elizabeth, Marisela, Barbara, Juana, Amanda, Erik, Courtney, Benjamin, Laurel, Lily, Linden, Leif, Leighton, Lincoln, Logan and LeAnder; thirty great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
