Carroll Tschetter, age 84, of Huron, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
His funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 17 at Mount Olivet Church. Burial followed in the Ideal Cemetery. His service was live-streamed .
Visitation was held one hour before the service on Friday.
Carroll Tschetter was born February 11, 1940, to Alfred D. and Elizabeth M. (Kleinsasser) Tschetter at Huron. He attended school in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1959.
On June 3, 1966, Carroll married Arlene J. Clark. They made their home in Huron becoming charter members of the Huron Baptist Church, SBC. Later, they joined the Mount Olivet Church.
Carroll's first job was a paper route carrier. After high school graduation, he worked for Park Grant/Nash Finch for over 20 years until they closed the business. He also worked at Dakota Pork for 5 years and Fair City Foods for over 10 years and retired from there.
Carroll enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and gardening and activities with his church family. The summer vacations were usually spent visiting family in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jay Tschetter; two brothers, Jerry Tschetter and Larry Tschetter; eight brothers-in-law, Gerald Tschetter, Harold Clark, Floyd Clark, Gary Clark, Adrian Clark, Douglas Clark, Pressly Stone and Shiley Cash; three sisters-in-law, Hattie Hall, Jewel Clark-Stone and Ruth Wallace-Clark; and three nephews, Brian Clark, James Tschetter and Seth Tschetter.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Arlene of Huron; two daughters, Cindy Tschetter of the Miller Good Sam Nursing Home and Annette (Marcus) Heminger of New Braunfels, Texas; three granddaughters, Xena Trebilcock and Sage Trebilcock of Washington and Jacqueline Heminger of Texas; one brother, Harvey (Patricia) Tschetter of Huron; one sister, Judy Tschetter of Huron; one sister-in-law, Lona Tschetter of Chanhassen, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Loraine Cash of Crestwood, Kentucky and Gail Ostegaard of Newland, North Carolina; one aunt of Shelbyville, Kentucky; as well as many loving nieces and nephews here and in surrounding states.
