Carol J. Wurz, age 81, of Huron, passed away at the Huron Regional Medical Center on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Her funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 20 at the Mount Olivet Church in Huron.  Burial followed in the Ideal Cemetery.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Carol Jean Tschetter was born April 6, 1942, to Paul I. and Annie J. (Hofer) Tschetter at Broadland, South Dakota.

Carol graduated Huron High School in 1960, and engaged to her life-long sweetheart, Delano "Del" Wurz, of Doland. They married on August 26, 1960, at Mt. Olivet Church and welcomed their only child, a daughter, Tamera "Tammy" Dawn in 1962.

Del, Carol and Tammy moved to Miller in 1967, and resided there for the next forty-five years. Carol's greatest joy and blessings in life were watching her grand and great-grandchildren grow up.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sisters; Dorothy Becker, Pauline Hofer, Annie Bothwell, Kathy Ritenour, Irene Polidori and Delores Meyer; and four brothers, Paul in infancy, Iky, Clarence and Delore.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Tammy (John) Barnes of Huron; four grandchildren, Brett (Jennifer) Barnes of Mt. Vernon, Jaclyn (Michael) Freeman of Sherwood, Arkansas, Jessica Barnes of Kansas City, Missouri and Bryan Barnes of Mitchell; five great-grandchildren, Caden Barnes, Logan Barnes, RJ Murphy, Solomon Freeman and Michael Freeman; three siblings, Frances Tschetter, Calvin Tschetter and Jerome Tschetter; and one sister-in-law, Jeanette Tschetter.
