Callyann Marie Wallenstein was born to Michael Todd Wallenstein and Lori Lee (Gross) Wallenstein on Wednesday, April 4, 1990, in Huron.
Cally grew up in Huron. In her younger years during the summertime, she could have been found running around and playing with the "Pack" of all the neighborhood kids and her cousins. Cally was one not to be left behindshe taught herself how to ride a bike. She wasn't about to let her brother, Todd, leave her in his dust. Cally loved to make mud pies in the backyard under the Mulberry tree, often trying out her mud concoctions. She loved to play mommy with her dolls and what a wonderful mommy she was to her three beautiful children, Miguel Mejia, Liliana and Asher Moreno Wallenstein.
In Callyann's younger years she went to Sunday school at the Calvary Baptist Church for a number of years. She attended summer bible class with her older brother Todd at the Faith Mennonite Church at Osceola. During those weeks, they were able to spend time and overnights at their Great-Grandma Barbara Gross' farm house where their Grandpa Gordon Gross grew up at. As a teen, Callyann attended First Assembly of God Church and took part in church camps and conventions.
During Cally's grade school years, she was in Girl Scouts and played basketball. She learned how to play the flute and took piano lessons from Sheila Bonen.
Cally attended Huron Public Schools. At the age of 15, she started working at SunQuest Health Care Center. In 2008, she graduated from Huron High School and was employed at Premier Bank Card. She also worked at LSI in Alpena and was promoted to higher positions. Cally was currently enrolled at Northern State University through Huron Community Campus while also working for the Center for Independence.
Cally was fluent in Spanish, having taken classes in middle school, high school and in college. She also took classes in nursing, psychology, business and general studies. She was due to graduate in May with a Bachelor's degree in Business.
Callyann loved spending time with her friends and family. She cherished her three little children. In many ways, Cally was fearless throughout her life, a trait she inherited from her father. She was the most loving, caring, compassionate, free-spirited, hard-working person you could ever meet. Cally was very caring of the elderly and handicapped. She had such a big heart for loving and taking care of people.
