Bonnie Lavielle, age 68, of Huron, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Avera McKennan Hospital at Sioux Falls.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Bonnie Lavielle was born March 14, 1954, to Jacques and Joyce (Mitchell) Lavielle at Elkhart, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in the Elkhart area. She then moved to Missouri for a short while, before settling in South Dakota. Bonnie was known as one of the Missouri Breaks sisters.
Bonnie worked at Dakota Pork for 18 years, before a motorcycle accident left her with long-term injuries.
She enjoyed working with beads, tending to her birds and fish, and spoiling her companion pup, Maxie. Bonnie served as the matriarch of her family, as she frequently called to check in on each one of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter in infancy, Kammy; one sister, Elmina Sandmeier; and one nephew, Arthur Cunningham.
Grateful for having shared in her life are one sister, Kimball Luna of Mitchell; one brother, Frank Lavielle of Mitchell; one niece, Rhiannon Weiss; four nephews, Lance Sandmeier, Steve Roberts, Jack Early and Carter Collins; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and her long-time life partner, Bernell Wooledge of Huron.
