Betty Fuehrer, age 97, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Avantara - Huron.

A private graveside service will be held at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Betty Mae was born September 23, 1927, to Arthur and Ethel (Bailey) Ramsell, at Huron. She received her education at Huron Public Schools.

On October 17, 1949, Betty married Melvin Fuehrer. They made their home near Virgil, raising four sons, Craig, Brent, Kyle and Brice.  Betty and Mel moved to Huron after Mel retired from active farming.

She was a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin in 2015, one son, Craig in 2009; her siblings, Paul (Ila) Ramsell, Ruth Cernick and Janet Ditmanson-Henderson-Peterson; and one nephew, Scott Ramsell.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her three sons, Brent (Patty) Fuehrer of Huron, Kyle (Karen) Fuehrer of Sturgis, and Brice Fuehrer of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren, Lisa Fuehrer, Trisha (Clay) Ochsner, Kara (Matt) Wiegel, Jodi Hettinger, Kristine Hettinger, Alex Grebin, and Sara Grebin; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
