Obituary

Barbara "Bobbi" Tschetter, age 92, of Huron, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the Avantara Huron. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. A private interment was held in the Ideal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Gideon's International .

Barbara Ann "Bobbi" Tschetter, daughter of Joe B. and Rebecca Walter was born May 18, 1927, at the family farm near Carpenter, South Dakota. She attended public school until the ninth grade at which time she moved home to assist her recently widowed mother.

She was united in matrimony to Henry I. Tschetter on August 6, 1944, at Bethel Mennonite Church. This union was blessed with four children, Marlis, Craig, Douglas and Steve. Henry preceded her in death on December 5, 2012.

She was an active member of Mount Olivet and Bethesda Mennonite Churches for many years. Her health eventually prohibited her attendance. Bobbi was always the smiling face among several church organizations such as, ladies' aide, choir and Bible study groups. The local Gideon's Camp was a special part of life for her and Henry.

Sunday will always be remembered as the day the family put on their best clothes, shined shoes, attended church, and returning to a house filled with the smell of Mom's wonderful Sunday dinner.

Everyone will remember her in their own special way; for many it will be her work ethics, her kindness, her devotion to serving others, the rubbing of hands or arms when she talked to you or her gracious entertainment in her home. But for her family, it will always be her unconditional love.

She is survived by four children, Marlis and Herb Klaassen of Papillion, Nebraska, Craig and Della Tschetter of Brookings, Doug and Susie Tschetter of Huron and Steve and Bev Tschetter of Huron; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet Tschetter of Omaha, Nebraska; and one brother, Jim and Lois Walter of Bellevue, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; three brothers, Sam, Menno and Amos Walter; two sisters, Alice and Edwin B. Tschetter and Marie Walter; and one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Tschetter.
