Arnold Bauder, age 103, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Alpena and Huron, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.

His funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 31, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, Huron. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. His service was live-streamed.

Visitation was held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arnold Bauder was born November 9, 1919, to Jacob and Karolina (Lehr) Bauder, on the family farm, northeast of Alpena, South Dakota. He attended Glendale School through the eighth grade. He farmed with horses until he was in his freshman year of high school, but he left school to farm full-time when his dad bought their first gas powered tractor.

On August 28, 1944, Arnold married Elaine Barstead. Arnold and Elaine owned and operated a farm near Alpena. In 1992, they moved to Huron and continued to help on the farm. Elaine passed away June 14, 2012. Arnold moved to Sioux Falls August 2022.

Arnold received Christ as his Savior in 1971, at the Bill Glass Crusade in Huron. He attended Living Hope Alliance Church (previously named Huron Mission Church). He enjoyed reading his Bible and "The Morning Glory" a Christian magazine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine; one brother, Herman (Jeanne) Bauder; two sisters, Edna Harrelson and Esther (Robert) Kinning; and two nephews, Armon Bender and Stewart Bender.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Arlene) Bauder of Huron and Randy (Kay) Bauder of Harrisburg, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Seth (Suzanne) Bauder of Harrisburg, South Dakota, Andy (Kristen) Bauder of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and Eric (Melissa) Bauder of Tea, South Dakota; and three great grandchildren, Neil Bauder and Anna Bauder of Harrisburg, South Dakota and Halli Bauder of Tea, South Dakota. He is also survived by one niece, Marlene Black of Redwood City, California; and one nephew, Richard Kinning of Lafayette, Louisiana.
