Obituary

Ardon Thomas Morse, age 83, of Huron, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Avantara - Huron, after a brief illness with cancer and Alzheimer's.

His memorial service was held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18, at Faith Alive Church. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation was held one hour before the service. His service was live-streamed.

Ardon Thomas Morse was born April 9, 1941, in Wolsey to Ardon Charles and Reca (Maxwell) Morse. He attended country school and graduated from Huron High School in 1959.  He held a ham radio license with the call letters K0QFS saying "quiet friendly soul from South Dakota".

On May 12, 1963, Tom married Donna Schneiderman. They made their home in Huron except for one year while attending Weltech College in Salt Lake City, Utah, taking electronic courses.

Tom worked for State Radio as a dispatcher while going to Huron College, then for A & M Radio where he did electronic service work, 11 years at Sears and Roebuck doing television repair. During his lifetime, he started working for Motorola as the "Man in the Van" servicing and selling two-way radios at home and on the road. He left Motorola and started his own business doing the same until the time of his death. In 1980, KNWC Christian radio was formed, followed by Moody Broadcasting (Christian radio 90.5), then the construction for a tower site at Carpenter linking Moody to it. Tom maintained the equipment for both sites.

Besides doing electronic work, he enjoyed fishing at Amsden Lake and Lake Louise. He designed bird scare equipment for military bases.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his parent-in-laws; a brother-in-law, Robert Ingle; and sister-in-law, Lois Ingle.

Grateful for sharing in his life for 61 years are his wife, Donna; daughter, Dawn (Bill) Meink; son, Joshua Morse; and grandson, Vincent "Vinnie" Morse, all of Huron; brother, Maxwell (Jeanne) Morse and their children, Todd and Elizabeth, all of Lakewood, Colorado; nephew, Scott (Sharon) Ingle of Cavour; and a niece, Beth Mathias and her son, Marc, both of Olathe, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Moody Broadcasting.
