Obituary

Anne Tschetter, age 98, of Huron and formerly of Hitchcock, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 20th, at the Prairie Bible Church, rural Carpenter, with Rev. Rod Poppinga officiating. Burial was in the Prairie Bible Church Cemetery.
Anne was born October 6, 1916, at Freeman, South Dakota, to Paul J.R. and Anna (Tschetter) Hofer. When she was ten years old, the family relocated from the Bridgewater area to the Hitchcock area where she attended country school until eighth grade. Anne was baptized in 1935 at the Hutterthal Church.
On June 18, 1938, Anne married Isaac J. Tschetter at Isaac's parents' home. The couple moved to Huron in 1968. In 1980, Anne and Isaac moved back to the family farm. Anne moved to SunQuest Village in 2003, then later to Country View Estates. In 2009, she moved to Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Anne was a wonderful cook and a prolific gardener. She was always willing to help her neighbors and was an active member of Prairie Bible Church and Christian Helping Hands. Anne was the ultimate person of hospitality and would always have people in for meals. Family was a priority to Anne, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sharon Tschetter of Hitchcock, and Calvin and Kim Tschetter of Huron; two brothers, Edwin (Josephine) Hofer of Brookings and Eldon P. (Bertha) Hofer of Huron; seven grandchildren, Jay (Lisa) Tschetter of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Tracey (Erick) Reiss of Worthing, Ryan (Morgan) Tschetter of Rapid City, Mark Tschetter of Hitchcock, Jennifer (Ryan) Fuchs of Huron, Stephanie (James Handy) Tschetter of Renton, Washington, and Jordan Tschetter of Huron; and ten great-grandchildren.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac J. Tschetter; infant children, LeAllen Gene Tschetter and JoAnne Delores Tschetter; three brothers; John, Paul, and Joe; and two sisters, Catherine and Marie.
