Ann L. VanOverschelde, age 76, of Huron, passed away at the Huron Regional Medical Center, Tuesday, November 30, 2023.

Her funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 9, at Kuhler Funeral Home. Visitation was an hour prior. Burial will follow at a later date.

Ann L. VanOverschelde was born October 26, 1947, to Joseph and Gladys (Phelps) VanOverschelde in Mitchell, South Dakota. She attended the Notre Dame High School in Mitchell, graduating in 1967, moving to Huron shortly after-where she worked as a nurses aide for thirty years at the Huron Nursing Home.

She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and enjoyed a variety of crafts, including puzzles. Ann was also an avid cat lover, and had many over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Rita Gates of Pierre, Richard (Iona) VanOverschelde of Huron, Leo VanOverschelde of Mitchell, Joseph VanOverschelde, Jr. of Mitchell and Lewis Frank in infancy; two nieces, Lynette Gates and Hillary Lee; well as her cat, Precious Angel.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her brother, Raymond (Pam) VanOverschelde of Mitchell; three sisters-in-law, Glenda VanOverschelde, of Huron, Donna VanOverschelde of Mitchell and Peggy VanOverschelde of Mitchell; one brother-in-law, Gene Gates of Pierre; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
