Andrew Riggs, age 44, of Wolsey, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

As per his wishes, he was cremated and his family will have a memorial service at a later date back home in Michigan.

Andrew Alan Riggs was born July 15, 1976, to Albert and Darlene (Morrison) Riggs, at Walkerville, Michigan. Attended and graduated from Walkerville Michigan High School.

On August 24, 2012, Andrew married Christina Ashburn at Hart, Michigan. They made their home at Hart Michigan, until moving to Huron in 2013.

Andrew worked in the oil fields for 18 years, before he decided to move to Huron to be closer to family, and then began working at Dakota Provisions. He was a hard worker and was very set in his ways, but stepped up for his family when needed.

Since childhood, Andrew loved mushroom hunting, watching sports, fishing, and swimming. He loved kids especially babies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Riggs.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Christina Riggs of Wolsey; three children, Steven Ashburn, Mindy Ashburn, and Jadyn Riggs of Wolsey; one granddaughter, Winter Ashburn of Wolsey; three siblings, Mark (Syreina) Riggs of Walkerville, Michigan, Matt (Connie) Riggs of Hart, Michigan and Brian Riggs of Hart Michigan; his mother, Darlene Riggs of Hart, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
