Allen Cameron, age 89, of Cavour, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
At his request, there will be no services. He will be interred the Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
Allen Leroy Cameron was born October 15, 1931, to Johnathan Cole Cameron and Marion Boysen Cameron, at Wessington Springs, South Dakota.
He joined the United States Airforce on January 11, 1950, and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on January 10, 1954.
Allen married Marlene Hein on January 15,1955. They had three children, Mary, Cole and Shelly. They later divorced. Allen also had daughter Kimberly Cameron from his second marriage to Carol Krier, they also divorced.
Allen worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Sioux Falls for 30 years and retired as an outside plan engineer at the age of 54. After his retirement, he spent many years living near the Missouri River and later moved to Arizona where he spent the majority of retirement years. His last six months were back in his home state with his son and daughter-in-law.
Allen loved fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his good neighbors and friends. Her cherished the time with his fur babies, Katie and Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his children, Mary Cameron of Hutchinson, Kansas, Cole and Maggie Cameron of Cavour, Shelly and Jon Slater of Sioux Falls and Kimberley Cameron of the Minneapolis area. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
