Virginia Wipf

Virginia Wipf, age 87, of Barling, Arkansas, and formerly of Huron, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Ft. Smith.  Her funeral service was at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 24th at Bethesda Church with Rev. Phil Plett officiating.  Entombment was at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Virginia was born November 13, 1921, in Yale, South Dakota to Jacob J. and Mary (Miller) Glanzer.

On August 25, 1940, she married Elgin J. Wipf at Yale.  They made their home in Huron.  Virginia was a homemaker and she also worked as a sales clerk at Lewis Drug for a number of years.  She was a member of Bethesda Church of Huron.  

Her husband died in 2000, and shortly after that she moved to Arkansas to be closer to her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elgin, and four brothers, Ernest, Rueben, Jake and Joe. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Alvetta Wipf, and her grandson, Michael Wipf, all of Barling, Arkansas; two sisters, Ruth Hofer of Huron, and Gloria Thiesen of Reedley, California; and many nieces and nephews.
