Viola Frank Obituary PhotoViola Frank, age 86, of Huron, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  Her funeral service was at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 1st, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Domke and Rev. Kelly Smith officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. 

Viola Rose Liebnow was born April 29, 1925, to Earnest and Emma (Kopplin) Liebnow at Wolsey, in Wessington Township.  She grew up on the family farm, attended country school and graduated from Sand Creek High School in 1943.  She worked for several years and on October 5, 1945, she married Richard Frank.

Following their marriage, she was a homemaker for 23 years.  She then moved to Huron and worked at the Marvin Hughitt Hotel and the Plains Motel.  Viola enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark; and one sister, Evelyn Berkland.

She is survived by eight children, Glenda (Dale) Dubro of De Smet, Anita (Gary) Muelling of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Steven (Donna) Frank of Huron, Nancy (Dennis) du’Monceaux of Mars Hill, North Carolina, Michael (Lois) Frank of Iroquois, Paul (Colleen) Frank of Rapid City, Marlin (Jennifer) Frank of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Todd Frank of Killeen, Texas; 16 grandchildren, Melisa (Mike) Lehr, Scott Dubro, Alicia (Ethan) Drotning, Michelle (Jeremiah) Pederson, Kimberly (Juan Carlos) Garcia, Jessica Frank, Erica Frank, Jenna (Brian) Neumayer, Justin Frank, La Tasha Frank, Cameron Muelling, Lisa Frank, Hannah (Curtis) Rowe, Katrina du’Monceaux, Vanessa Frank, and Noah Frank; eight great-grandchildren, Devan Nelson, Dayza Nelson, Aidan Pederson, Kieran Frank, Conner Lehr, Madison Lehr, Abigail Drotning, and Clapton Frank; and two sisters, Neoma Frank of Wolsey and Ardeth Hammerquist of Rapid City.
