Terry Hickle obituary photo rTerrence E. “Terry” Hickle, age 66, of Broadland, died Monday, September 13, 2010, at his home.  His funeral service was at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 18th, at Broadland United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Britton officiating.  Burial was in the Broadland Cemetery. The family prefers memorials.

Terrence Eugene Hickle was born January 6, 1944, at Huron to Harold Cecil and Pearl Caroline (Hoops) Hickle. He grew up in the Broadland-Hitchcock area and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1962.  Terry enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged January 17, 1968.  Following his discharge, he was employed in St. Paul, Minnesota at UNIVAC and moved back to South Dakota in 1973.  Terry worked at various jobs in the Huron area including Huron Manufacturing and GCC Concrete.  He married Sheryl Stearns in Watertown on June 26, 1985.

Terry was a member of Broadland United Methodist Church.  He was a former member of the V.F.W., was a member of the Hitchcock American Legion and had served as a Broadland town board member.  Terry was also a former member of the Broadland Men’s Club.

Preceding Terry in death were his parents and two sisters, Crystal Dawn Hickle and LaVon Martinec.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Hickle of Huron; one daughter, Katie Blair of Little Falls, Minnesota; one brother, Randy (Dawn) Hickle of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four nieces, Michele (Scott) Tiege, Tonya (Cory) Stuefen, Tracy (Patrick) Glasford, and Taralee Waack.
