Kleinsasser, age 87, died Saturday November 22, 2008, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was 2 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Huron with Rev. Stewart Lozensky, officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Ruben D. Kleinsasser was born August 25, 1921, to David D. and Susie (Unruh) Kleinsasser near Freeman.  He moved to Onida with his parents when he was four years old.  Ruben attended the South Buffalo School in Sully County.  At the age of sixteen, he moved with his parents to a farm northeast of Huron.

 On January 30, 1942, he married Rebecca Tschetter at Huron.  Following their marriage they farmed until 1989, when they moved to Huron.  Ruben was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church on December 11, 1948, by C.A. Renchler.  Ruben worked at Armour and Company for seventeen years, retiring in 1970.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rebecca on August 10, 2007; one brother, Alvin at three months; and one sister, Verna Hein.

 Grateful for having shared his life are his two sons and their wives, Lyle and Jeanette Kleinsasser of Iroquois and Leo and Nyla Kleinsasser of Huron; six grandchildren, Shannon Kleinsasser, David Kleinsasser, Larica Hofhenke, Jill Swenson, Jason Kleinsasser, and Lonnie Kleinsasser; eleven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three brothers, Ervin (Irene) Kleinsasser of Huron, Willard (Verna) Kleinsasser of Carpenter, and Jerome (Shirley) Kleinsasser of Huron; one sister, Annie (Robert) Oswald of Huron; and many nieces and nephews.
