Roger Worrall

Roger Worrall, age 49, of rural Carpenter, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at his residence.  His funeral service was at 11 AM on Monday, April 26th, at the Prairie Bible Church, (formerly Hutterthal Church), rural Carpenter, with Rev. Nathan Janzen, officiating. Burial was at 2 PM Monday in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Watertown.

Roger was born on February 27, 1961, at Huron, South Dakota, to Robert and Phyllis (Schmitz) Worrall.  He grew up at Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1979.  Roger worked as a mechanic at Olsen Implement as well as OK Tire and for Doug North and was working for Orrin Tschetter at the time of his death.  Roger enjoyed archery and hunting, as well as fishing.  In his younger days he was a member of the Huron Archery Club.  He also enjoyed racing and worked in a lot of “Pit Crews” for different racers.  On October 22, 1983, he married Robyn Gednalske.  They later divorced.  On December 31, 2009, he married Barb (Clayton) Andersen at Clark.  Following their marriage they made their home near Lake Byron.  Roger was a member of the Lake Byron Association. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his grandparents, and a step-son, Steven Andersen.

Survivors include his wife, Barb of Carpenter; daughter, Jennifer Worrall and fiance, Joe Mees of Huron; stepdaughter, Staci (Dean) Plunkett and their daughter, Chre of Watertown; stepsons, Shawn Andersen of Watertown and Stuart Andersen of Vermillion; mother, Phyllis Worrall of Huron; two sisters, Susan (Jim) Searing of Huron, and Jeannie (Dana) Hess of Brookings; two brothers, Brian (Mel) Worrall of Huron and Bruce (Glenda) Worrall of Prescott, Arizona; and his faithful golden retriever, “Elvis”.
