Ricky Ryan Wipf

Ricky Ryan Wipf, age 51, of Minot, North Dakota, died Friday, October 19, 2012, at his home.  His memorial service was at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 26th at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with Rev. Chip Holmes officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. 

Ricky Ryan Wipf was born November 3, 1960, to John G. and Flora (Bates) Wipf at Huron.  He graduated from Huron High School and continued his education at Southern State at Springfield, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in drafting.   Ricky worked for the state of South Dakota Department of Transportation at Pierre for a number of years.  He then moved to Lorton, Virginia and worked as a design technician for eight years.  Ricky then started working for the United States Department of Transportation and later transferred to Denver, Colorado.  In 2009, he moved to Fate, Texas, where he worked for Janssen and Spaans Engineering.  In September 2012, Ricky moved to Minot, North Dakota for a job with Ackerman-Estvold Engineering and Management Consulting.

He enjoyed history, especially the Civil War and World War II.  Ricky enjoyed attending renaissance fairs, participating as a “monk.”  He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his two sisters and their husbands, Twila and James Quiram of Wolsey and Starla and Wesley Stewart of Fate, Texas; six nieces and nephews, James (Stacy) Quiram, Jr. of Huron, Ryan (Bonnie) Quiram of Delmont, Shawn Quiram of Huron, Chastity (Chris) Beals of Wolsey, Zackary Quiram of Madison and Andrea Stewart of London, England; and eleven great nieces and nephews, Tashia, Brooklyn, Isbela, Brynn, Johnathan, Samantha, Anthony, Emily, Connor, Sarah and Cullun.
