Richard Hein obit photoRichard Hein, age 79, of Wolsey, died Monday, December 7, 2009, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 2 PM, Thursday, December 10th at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Wolsey with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating.  Burial was in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. 

Richard Lee Hein was born September 23, 1930, in Wolsey, South Dakota, to Fred and Lena (Kowalke) Hein.  

Richard married Minnie Severson on September 19, 1948, at Wolsey, South Dakota.  After their marriage, they farmed southwest of Wolsey.  They retired in 1974 and moved to Wolsey in 2001.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, listening to and watching the Minnesota Twins and pheasant hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Helen Palmer; two brothers, Vern and William Hein; and his daughter, Brenda.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Minnie of Wolsey; two children, James (Nancy) Hein of Huron, and Lorenda Stahl of Huron; five grandchildren, Kari (Dave)  Hinker of Huron, Benjamin Hein of Huron, Amy Stahl of Huron, Andrea Stahl of Huron and Randy Stahl of Huron; six great-grandchildren, Tye, Tanner and Teegan Evers, and Wesley, Allyson and Owen Larson; two step great-grandchildren, Justice and Jayci Hinker and three sisters, Esther Ross of Volga, Lila Morse of Pierre, and Burdette (Robert) Meyer of Yankton.
