Rebecca Kleinsasser

Rebecca (Mrs. Ruben) Kleinsasser, age 86, of Huron, died Friday, August 10, 2007, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  Her funeral service was at 10 AM Monday, August 13th at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. Stewart Lozensky officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Rebecca Tschetter was born December 11, 1920, near Freeman, South Dakota to Lorenz L.S. and Susanna (Kleinsasser) Tschetter.  She moved to Beadle County with her parents when she was three years old.  Rebecca attended school at Lake Byron Township.  After graduating from the eighth grade, she attended Sunnyside Bible School at Freeman and completed two years of Elementary Bible on May 4, 1937. 

 On January 30, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ruben D. Kleinsasser at Huron by the Rev. John P. Tschetter.  They farmed for over forty years, until they retired and moved to Huron in 1989.  Rebecca was an active partner in the farming operation.  She raised chickens, milked cows, and ran the combine when her husband worked at Armour Foods.

Rebecca was baptized June 9, 1951, by Elder Lindquist at a camp meeting at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Susanna and Justina; two brothers, Eli and Theodore; two brothers-in-law, Dayton Fuller and Ed Fast; and three sisters-in-law, Marie Tschetter, Cathern Tschetter and Emma Tschetter.

 She is survived by her husband, Ruben, of Huron; two sons, Lyle (Jeanette) Kleinsasser of Iroquois, and Leo (Nyla) Kleinsasser of Huron; six grandchildren, Shannon Kleinsasser, David Kleinsasser, Larica Hofhenke, Jill Swenson, Jason Kleinsasser and Lonnie Kleinsasser; eleven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed and John Tschetter, both of Huron; and two sisters, Clara (Lyle) Witherrite of Union, Oregon, and Ida Fast of Onida.
