Rebecca Entz obituary photoRebecca Entz, age 98, of Huron, died Tuesday morning, September 30, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in De Smet.  Her funeral service was at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4th at the Kuhler Funeral Home in Huron with Rev. Rollo Entz, officiating.  Burial was in the Bethesda Church section of the Ideal Cemetery, Huron. Memorials may be directed to Gideons International, PO Box 272, Huron, SD  57350.

Rebecca was born on September 26, 1910, in Beadle County to Jacob and Anna (Tschetter) Entz.  She moved with her family to a farm in Sully County, South Dakota.  She attended rural school and also four years of school at Northwest Bible Institute in Minneapolis.  Rebecca taught in rural schools for several years.  She was proud of getting the Huron Plainsman to carry “My Answer” by Billy Graham.  Rebecca was a member of the Bethel Church, rural Yale, for a number of years before moving to Huron.  Following her move to Huron in the late 1950’s she transferred her membership to the Bethesda Church.  For the past few years she had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in De Smet.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jacob and Anna; two nephews, Marvin Entz and Orville Glanzer; one sister, Mary Ann Glanzer; and five brothers, Jacob Jr., Joe, John, Samuel and Dave Entz.

Survivors include her many nieces and nephews, including Rev. Rollo (Gretchen) Entz of Hesperia, California, Sonja (Dr. Bruce) Gale of Olathe, Kansas, and Sandra (James) Hubbard of Valencia, California.
