Raymond Kuehl obituary photoRaymond E. “Jack” Kuehl, age 83, of Huron, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 11:00 AM  Thursday, April 19th  at Riverview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Whipkey officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council. 

Raymond Edward Kuehl was born October 3, 1928, at Virgil, South Dakota to Clarence and Elizabeth (Siemens) Kuehl.  He attended the Kuehl country school. 

Jack served in the United States Army in Korea and Japan with the Amphibian Group and in the Motor Pool.  He was honorably discharged as a sergeant. 

On June 6, 1956, he married Marvella Ahlstrom at Huron.   Jack was employed as a well driller at Huron Well Drilling and an office manager at Pullman Well Drilling.  After over fifty years of work in well drilling, he retired in 2003. 

Jack was a life member of the V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lloyd and his sister Eunice as a young child.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Marvella of Huron; two sons, Steven Kuehl of Huron and Ronald Kuehl of Loveland, Colorado; his daughter, Pamela (Robert) Young of Black Hawk; six grandchildren, Jon Kuehl, Jennifer Young, Jack Young, David Kuehl, Jamie Kuehl, and Joseph Young; one great-granddaughter, Angela Reyes; two brothers, Eugene Kuehl of Rapid City and Donald (Ruth) Kuehl of Willmar, Minnesota; two sisters, LaVonne Biegler of Rapid City and Marcene Sandau of Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
