Milton King obituary photoMilton “Milt” King, age 84, of Huron, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at the SunQuest Health Care Center.  His funeral service was at 1:30 PM Wednesday, August 12th at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Daniel Domke officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council. 

 Milton “Milt” G. King was born July 21, 1925, to Milton and Katherine (Therkildsen) King at Huron.  He received his education in Huron and served in the United States Army with the 515th Parachute Infantry, 13th Airborne during World War II.

 On October 8, 1944, Milt married Ruby Rose Luschen at California.  After their marriage, they lived in Huron where Milt worked as a brakeman for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.  After his retirement from the railroad in the early 1970s, Milt worked as the maintenance director for the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.  He loved to drive his car and was also a “collector”.  He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; one daughter, Brenda Harms; two sons-in-law, Robert “Bob” Sexton and Alan Kjellerson; and two brothers, Lewis and Donald King.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his five daughters, Bonnie Sexton of Huron, Barbara Kjellerson of Huron, Penny (Jerry) Dooley of Huron, Rosemary (Richard) Lancaster of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Donna (Brad) Warren of Sandy, Utah; fifteen grandchildren, Brandon Dooley, John Beach, Tim Warren, Garrett Harms, Scott King, Scott Kjellerson, Kevin Kjellerson, Tim Sexton, Lynn Kjellerson, Lori Hayman, Jeanie Allerdings, Nicole Blazevich, Sarah Harms, Michelle Sexton, and Sheila Phillips; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew Blazevich, Katelyn Allerdings, Halee Allerdings, Randy Hayman, Chad Hayman, Dakota Kjellerson, Tasha Kjellerson, Kendra Kjellerson and Elaine Kjellerson; one great great-grandson, Matthew Sano; and one sister, Olive Glanzer of Huron.
